Out fishing dog lake for a few crappie with Tim (Tylerkurt) and Joe. Caught a mixed bag of crappie, bass and pike. A fellow came along and asked if his 3 sons could fish the holes we were no longer using as we worked our way along a shoal. Said no problem so he dropped them off, one had a 7 foot 2 piece and one had the bottom half of a 7 foot with the third little fellow spectating. Standard size spoons for casting was their bait. As we were packing up the 3 came over to see if they could use the holes we were walking away from. They mentioned that they had not ice fished before and did not know what to do, and 1 asked if he could have a minnow. Tim got the minnow bucket back out and soon had 3 hands out, he also spent the next few minutes explaining the depth, and jigging movements, a quick explanation to ice fishing. I also listened in, just in case a secret technique slipped out. We then made our way back to the trucks and loading the gear. As we finished the father and oldest boy pulled up on the snowmobile and the father thanked us for giving the boys the minnows and held up a good size pike that still had the lure, line and rod attached. That 5 minutes of time spent with the young lads sure made their day, and gave us a good chuckle to.
Hope everyone had a good Saturday
Cheers Rob

And it was the kid with the 7 ft poll that caught the pike.
