Just an FYI to everyone. You can get on the ice at herchimer. I am fishing out near the middle. 16 ft of water. Yamaha 450 with clam in tow. Some one drove a truck out at some point and I spent an hour or so packing the trail with my bike. Travel is dicey off the trail with the quad!

Do you think the launch is suitable for truck access or is it too slushy at the ramp?

Somone drove a side by side with tracks to rush bar when I was there. I was using this trail as it extended from the truck trail. I would have gone all the way myself if I wasn't by myself. So much easier to get unstuck with help. When I started fishing I drove off the trail to see how far I would have gotten, and it wasnt that far and I was burried.

The truck that drove out had a huge lift kit and huge tires. A regular pickup would plow snow for sure and probably wouldnt make it too far. The snow was up to my kneees. The only slush on the ice was where there were pressure cracks and where I drilled two holes. The ice was sagging a fair bit.

I marked perch. There was NO walleye marked in 4 hours of fishing.
