Upgraded my hooks on a few Buckshots I use regularly to size 4 Gamakatsu red trebles. Had a hit and hookset on a fish at the old hay bay church on Sunday that straightened out all three trebles and never did see the fish. Probably a big pike because I have caught ten pound eyes on the factory hooks and been fine. Probably would have snapped my line if I wasn't using 14 lb test.

Yea, that happened to me last year on wellers, missed a big cow. that only has to happen once then we change ALL our tackle.

Thanks for the input guys I will give these Gamakatsu's a try and see how they work. Fairly small barbs on them but very sharp and strong

X2 on the KVD hooks and the facotry hooks are ***
Gammy hooks are garbage
Vmc hooks are pretty decent

If u dont mind the little extra cash. I always buy trokar hooks. Seems to be the best for me and they are sharpe
