muds, they live a lot longer, and you don't get scales all over your hands when you put then on the hook.

Muds with a silver mr champ, you don't need a silver minnow with a silver lure.

Muds. They live longer. I find shiners end up coming off your hook if your jigging aggresively, and I have no luck catching walleye with them.

I think they are Eastern blacknose dace but not 100% they could also be bluntnose.

The mud minnows I have bought in three different places are not the mud minnows here.

Good illustration of both here of a bunch of minnows and shiners

I prefer muds. I recently got some shiners and my hookup ratio is much lower after I mark fish than when I was using muds. As mentioned above, the muds last longer and stay on the hook better than the shiners.

Mud minnows can be a bunch of different species but a lot of the species are different kinds of dace. The central mud minnows work great if you can get them! They are one of the longest lasting minnows and are quite abundant in some local ponds and streams.

What most shops sell as "muds" are fatheads & finescale or redbelly dace.

Incorrectly called "muds" as they both inhabit sluggish, darkly stained, swampy streams, ponds and lakes. ie. they get them out of a mudhole. I prefer them for eyes and crappies. Shiners and suckers for the pike.

We sell both Muds and Shiners. Medium Muds are hands down the best seller.
