If anyone is interested in targeting Gar Pike, I would suggest going to Aikins RD. Started fishing at 2 p.m till dark, and they were on my camera and flasher steady the whole time out. Here's a few pictures from camera.

Wasn't really what I was looking for on my last Quinte outing of the ice season, but Hey, it was a Helluva lot better than marking Perch all day!!!

Ya, I've never caught one before either. It was a drag peeler for sure. This is my first year with the camera, and I wasn't a big fan of it at the start, cause it's another extra hole I have to drill...lol But it's amazing sometimes what you see down there. I was at Huffs about a month ago, and I couldn't believe the amount of Sheepies down there, and now this time, the Gar. Was on Scugog a few weeks ago, and saw lots of Muskies swimming around. It works well combined with the flasher. At least you know what you're marking on the flasher.
So, when you guys are out there, and your flashers are all "lit up" don't always assume it's Walleye!!!

Nice gar .... I have said the same thing about huffs the last couple of years , have seen schools of sheepshead and the wont come near your lure , they will just swim by , and there are some big ones out there , not sure why they won't big well in the winter , you get them in the spring and fall in the same areas..?

Tim...I would never target them myself, cause I wouldn't want to have to deal with that crazy mouth full of teeth....lol But some people might. It was kinda funny cause the fish actually got tangled in Lisa's line while I was fighting it, my lure popped out of it's mouth, got caught in her line, and it ended up coming up tail first out of the other hole 5 feet away, with no lure stuck in it at all. Just the line wrapped around it. It was a pretty exciting 5 minutes!!!! Just glad I didn't have to deal with that chainsaw mouth...lol
