Does anyone know if the tickets for the Walleye Weekend will be available at the show on the weekend?

I'm sure they will be Dave. Our package (tickets and hats) was available a month ago. Dave

One of my few traditions is entering the derby. This is yr # 6. I'm sure that pails in comparison to a lot of people but I've only been fishing quinte for 6 years

Hmm, I am guessing one can't enter the walleey world derby if they can only (and choose) to fish from a kayak? In an effort to go green, get more excercise, and access parts of the lake boats can not get to, both my dad and I had bought fishing kayaks and I gotta say, they are a blast to fish from, though they exlcude us (most likely) from entering events such as this. Though I gotta say, pulling in a huge walleye, or pike from a kayak is quite an experience, and bass usually do not stand a chance!

cheers,

Jon

I'm sure you can still enter, but your going to have to find some way to keep that fish alive if you want to enter it in the derby. I don't know if livewells are mandatory, but they may be.

Your kayak is ok by last years standards, the rules last year made no mention of live wells, people could even fish from shore, the ministry does prohibit the transport of live fish over land, I have no idea how they get the fish to the weigh in. I have fished some smaller derdys in a tinny that did not have a live well, we used the chain and clips ( sold at Can Tire), kept the fish in the water and at slow troll they stayed alive. C U there
Cheers Rob
