Its a Good reel!!!!! I just tried a buddies on the weekend. The only downfall is the button on the back. I recommend the Black Betty!!!!!!! It's the best in market IMO.

I looked at one at a tackle shop, and it felt really uncomfortable. You need 2 hands to let the line out. Kinda defeats the purpose of the baitcaster where you can hold the rod, and release the line with the same hand. If you already have a baitcaster reel, you can buy an ice rod to match it up with for a lot less $$$ I tried it this year for the first time and loved it. Only thing is you can't do the pistol grip with the baitcaster setup, but wasn't really an issue for me.

Good Luck!!

They have it at Bronson and bronson in kingston as well as a few other 13 fishing combos. Last time I was there they had some black Bettys as well if you want to get a hands on look at them.

Wow thanks for the information guys. Its so shiny and nice I think i will make a trip to Kingston to check them out and put it in my hand. I have been using the rtype combo with the big spool reel but I dont like reeling it with the eyelets facing upward i find it weird. When i saw this with the bottom mount reel i thought it would be the best of both worlds! Again thanks alot folks!
