Pretty neat....someone on the board (someone with more money than me) should get one and then lend it out to his board friends.

I agree, they could rent that thing out. There is probably enough things dropped in the lakes around here throughout the year that someone could make a part time small business out of retrieval services.

A new way to fish - when the fish are there and are not biting! Imagine lifting up a giant catfish!

I Actually seen this device today for the first time on the radio world web site, looks pretty cool, and could pay for its self and some if you were to do some exploring......

One time in my younger days me and a couple buddies were ice fishing simcoe and let my grip go on my rod and reel combo that i just bought the night before. Man I could have used this then....lol

I'm not so sure it will be able to lift my spud off the bottom of big bay, neat idea though.

pretty neat device, but it definatly would have its ups and downs. I have scuba dived for the last 15 years and I don't think it would work well. You take into consideration hanging over the side of a boat In waves trying to hold it still, and to grab the obect not to mention currents.
Also you hit the bottom once and you won't see it till it clears. In certain situations yes. Dockside yes. Dead calm lake maybe. If anyone ever loses anything of value out on the water. Mark the GPS co-ordinates and shoot me a PM I may be able to help ya out.
