Just wanted to post this sticky with the link and encourage folks to come out and join the cause. Call up some peeps, make some plans and make a weeknd of it. After this particuraily long winter I am looking forward to getting the boat out and enjoying some soft water fishing. I have been doing the opening weekend thing now for over 20 years and for many like me its a tradition of spring and looking back now we have have enjoyed some truly miserable , funny, laughable, wet, hot and enjoyable openers. Some years sitting out there in t-shirts getting sun burned and catching squat but other years bundled up tight in the floater suits fighting the wind, rain and waves and nailing fish. Luv those years when you end up somewhere in the middle between the two extremes. Its always a crap shoot but not one I would miss for anything.

This looks like a fun event with some really nice prizes! Maybe I'll try to make up there this year?

Cheers thanks for sharing!

Great stuff - Keith's on the mark as well as Romaneck (watch his video too) in shallow water.

Guess everyone will be in Mohawk Bay or the east end of Hay Bay :D :D :D

We'll be out there

Apparently the hats are held up in a labour dispute in Vancouver.

Just purchased tickets for myself and 2 boys. I'm coming from Smiths Falls. Our first tournament. Any suggestions on where to launch and where to rest our heads Friday and Saturday night?

Depends on the size of your boat. If you're in a smaller boat, you would probably want to launch close to where you are going to fish, and maybe close to a weigh station. The weather is pretty unpredictable that time of year. There are many launches all over the Bay. Then look for hotels/camping close to that area. I would suggest looking into it right away, because hotels, trailer parks, etc.... will book up fast.

Good Luck!!!!
