Landshark,

I'm pretty sure if you caught a shark out of your Lund you'd have it in the net in a couple minutes.

I know kayak fishing is the big craze right now, but fighting a fish too long from a kayak probably results in a lot of released fish just going to the bottom to die.

I know I may be reading too much into your post, but fishing for large species such as Marlin, Sailfish, Tarpon or even Muskies should be done from a real boat.

I know what you mean though. The video did say he hooked into it on accident. Sure he could have cut the line but i would have to be honest and be tempted to go with the flow.

I hooked into something big fishing out of a kayak out near the gap, started pulling me out towards amherst island and it was getting dark. Tried to winch it in and broke off, bullshark maybe?

Kayaks are real boats, invented far before the motor, the fiberglass, the metal boats on the waters today. As long as you know what you are doing- it's no different and that's why anchors are invented. And kayaks are less invasive on the water, and don't pollute. But on the subject- you gotta admit, that would be a hell of a ride- reminds me of a movie, a big boat, a few guys, and one mean arse shark.....

Surprisingly never saw that one...but here's a quote from the movie.." Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. $10,000 for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."
