I'm looking to fish for cats from shore. Is Napanee still a good spot at night. Haven't gone there for a few years. Cheers

I do not know about this time of year, as most folks that I have spoken too, targetted them in the spring in years past in the Napanee River (in the area behind Baker Street Seniors building).

Regards
Don Stokes

I have done really well on Big Isalnd from shore for cats. Caught a 17 pounder last year there. Jighead and a night crawler right before and after dark...
good luck

Have you ever heard of "gull pond" near point peter?? I like to take my kids there in the spring. As for directions after you turn off the Pt. Peter road I'm not sure of directions I get there by memory only. "Sorry" The cat fish are caught hand over fist a great time. :) "slug"

Hey Slug, Aren't they mudcat/mudpout at Gull Pond? That's probably not what they mean by catfish (ie. channel cat). It took me awhile after leaving the county to realize what we called catfish were actually mudpout to the rest of the world.

I once saw a huge catfish caught off the pier at the Glenora Ferry (Aldolphostown side). That was a long time ago though.

 A pal got a channel cat in Glenora through the ice. I thought because my kids have such a great time at the pond.....Never thought of channel cat.. sorry. Thanks for sorting me out. I left the county when vic-20 was popular ha ha. Nice to discover this little jem of a site. Wish I could post a picture of the salmon I got this year. I had to trade quinte walleye for salmon and muskie. I haven't caught a good pickerel in the Kawarthas yet. 3-4 lb max. I hear stories but...thanks again :)

My wife went fishing with a couple of her friends today near Port Hope. She had the chest waders and all. She caught two nice chinooks. She's a keeper but she let the chinook go. You must hit chinooks in your river. ??

had seen 2 last weekend when bass fishing, had my 4wt so didn't dare try to catch them, would of been either a broken rod or missing line. I was told by people that they usually come up our river a little later than other places, but they do come here. I've never fished this late in bass season before, usually once it got a little cold in the mornings I just quit until the next opener.

great pics, I was down there yesterday, since you can only fish south of the cn tracks it was a madhouse!!! I only fished for 5 minutes. I don't mind fishing near a few people, but not the whole town, hehe.
that bottom pic is a brown? I'm only familiar with resident browns so assuming the colour is different.

I agree with the pic sharing, I do a ton of bow fishing so here you all go. Now lets see some bass from you bass guys, walleye from the walleye guys, and pike from the pike guys.
