Jigging, Trolling, cranks, bottom-bouncing spinners, rivers (which I'm sure will be packed), shoals, rocky shorelines, contour lines....etc, etc, etc................
Which one will be your focus? I'm sure we will be trying them all.....................LOL

Im going to say slow jigging deep holes adjacent to spawning grounds during the day with jigging bright colored grubs tipped with a thick piece of nightcrawler or lively mud minnow.
If they are stacked in the rivers, i would use stickbaits slow cranked during low light hours. Going to be an interesting opener to say the least!!!!

Lindy Riggin for sure, and I'll definitely have a Slow Death Rig tied onto one of my other rods .....

In past seasons when the spawn was so close to the opener the winning fish came out of the napanee and Trent rivers on jigs at night. Probably a good starting point.

Excellent reply, Dan. I think this is going to be one of those years.

Naaah there won't be any fish in the Napanee River. Might as well just not go up there. Go to Hay Bay or the 49 bridge. Or better yet, go to Trenton or Belleville. Reports are that the fishing will be great over there. Plus, you can stay for free in Trenton. Free Hydro too. Just sayin'...

I would have to say jigging for sure, probably a lead jig with some gulp minnows or twister tails

the spawn was later this year so the rivers will hold some fish in them. a lot of people will be launching at the napanee river and trolling up to dez. me included
