Gentlemen....As promised please find attached pictures of the 13 lb 5 oz eye caught during the weekend festivities at Merland Park this past weekend...(Note dimensions of fish were 31" long by 19" girth.) Given the weather conditions and all our hosts Jennifer and Kevin Lavers put on a great weekend. Now that my fishin partner and I have one annual under our belt we will have a better idea of how things are organized for next year. As for the fish, she was caught around 7pm Saturday evening just outside of Merland's Resort in 22' of water. The lure of choice was a Bagleys db06 crankbait in firetiger. This particular lure had seen the water already a fair bit this fall in the Honey Harbour area fishing for muskie. I must say however it was no where near as successful as it was for the giant eyes of Quinte. What they say is definately true...." BIG lure...BIG fish ". Two other fish were taken by the Bagley soon after between the hours of 7pm and 10pm, both over 10 lbs.
In addition to the deserving thanks to our host and hostess I would also like to pass on best wishes to Dan Elliot for his work on this website, my fishing partner Ken who drove the boat 96% of the weekend, Jeff Cross from cottage 5 who fortunantley was on land when we came in to measure out fish and of course my spouse Valerie who let get me get away this fall for 3, 3day fishing adventures.
Good to meet you all. May you have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
Ken Parkhurst
ps...In the event I am not successful transmitting pictures I will sent them directly to Dan for posting.
