With not great results compared to other years i wasnt successful in finding many pike and nothing of size. i fished belleville area. The pike that were caught were in shallow water and didnt fight much at all. Was wondering how anyone else made out???

We caught 10, biggest was close to 12 lbs, we don't enter the derby... just out for fun!

Saw others, some sluggish, some..not so much!

I targeted them as well, caught 5 largest was only around 8 lbs. Problem seems to be that the weeds are way down compared to last year in the areas that I fish.

We were trying for Walleye but ended up getting 12 pike 3-6lbs in Hay Bay. We were using worm harnesess and fishing in 5-8 ft of water. We saw a ton of Pike caught and talked to a few people who had some big ones.

Me and a buddy fished near the skyway all day saturday and sunday morning until 10:30 for pike. We caught 54 in total, biggest about 7.5lbs. Lots between 4-6lb. They where not hitting the spinnerbaits aswell as usual so we switched to a williams wabler and added a twitch and they started hammering it. Oh and i snagged a 20+lb carp with a spinner bait through the top fin.....that was fun!

I like to target pike myself too, I fished Adoph reach and the bays and got no pike bec could not find proper weedbed and it was my first time exploring the area. If you find a weedy bay with live weeds, not the dead brown stuff, in 5-7 fow, you will be in for pike. Posts are right - weeds have not grown high enough yet but they are around. Go slow at this time as it is colder water than they like it, they bit when water temps are around 19-21C. Weedless spoons and minnow plastics would work.

During the opener, we noticed a lot of pike way shallow and in among the cat-tails. Pretty sure they are still spawning as they were cruising around very tight to one another and thrashing around in the weeds. Didn't seem interested in any thing we threw their way.

We were out for Walleye but managed a few Pike with the largest being 6.5 lbs. All caught on worm harnesses in either orange or chartreuse.
