Too lazy to re-size pictures from last night on WestLake, so I will share a brief report. Weather last night was great, except for an east wind, so decided to grab my stuff and go fishing for a a bit. Usually take four poles already rigged for quick presentation changes. Don't like using snap swivels, always braid to the lure.
Anyhow, line in the water and trolling at 7:30 and pike and bass as well as the odd perch kept me interested, but no Wallskies.
Was going to call it a night when the wind started to gust at 9:00pm, but knew this was a good sign. Went to my favorite spot, this time of year, and started casting. Within minutes I landed a Wallskie that was one ounce shy of 7lbs. That's a good size for WestLake. Within 15 minutes , I landed 2 more, that were probably around 2 to 2.5lbs. I also missed a couple more.
My CCshads took a beating. Cheap hooks and split rings. But I sure do love 'em. Out of the four rigged poles, one came home intact. Other three, missing hooks and one missing the whole body. Big hit and all I reeled in, was the bill that I tied to
See you out there.
