Got a chance to get out earlier in the week, went 5/6 with 3 browns, 1 rainbow around 8 pounds and 1 atlantic salmon, all fish were released. Warmest water was right off Wellington around 52 F, temperatures ranged from 45 to 52. Three fish came off spoons and three on sticks thunderstick jr and j-9. My friend built this planer mast out of a telescoping boat pole, first time testing it out and it worked well. We had just used Inlines before this.
West Point in the distance.
These fish are well fed
Small atlantic, I've caught three at the sandbanks and all were on orange lures for some reason
The biggest fish of the day had one hook in the mouth and the other hook in the side made it harder to land, took three long runs fought as hard as some salmon I've caught.
Another smaller brown lamprey wound on the belly, the bigger brown and rainbow had 3-4 lamprey wounds on each fish.
Found this dead fish was around 15 pounds not sure if it's a rainbow or salmon.
