Friday after work loaded the boat up and headed to deseronto with a couple of good friends. Headed up the reach into the mix of boats there and dropped the bottom bouncers down. The screen was loaded in fish from top to bottom and pretty quickly the fish were biting. For the evening 15 fish landed all of which were good eaters with the biggest a bit over 3 lbs. Chartruse harnesses were working well. Back the next day and was able to get 8 more before the wind made it near impossible to fish. Sunday morning was beautful as the wind had dropped over night and the fish were still there. Caught another 11 and Cymbals got 9. Ran out of worms and decided to try some trolling with crankbaits and boards up by shermans. Zero fish on the boards. We ran cranks shallow, deep and inbetween but nada. Bumped in to a few familiar faces including Mr.walleyes group and they were doing well on the bb as was everybody in the area. Talking with a friend that fished saturday morning on the flats at the back end of hay bay they managed 10 fish before the wind pushed them off. Seems like the bite is picking up. I'm hoping with the wamer weather forecasted for this week and next the trolling bite should start to pick up. Water temp was 56-58

Thanks for sharing Dan, now I'm anxious to get the boat back into the water for the weekend.

Well, what we thought was going to be a great first time outing on Quinte turned into a nightmare... Launched in Deseronto Saturday around 8:00am boated up to the narrows with winds in the 25-30 kms range against us.. Made it up to the red marker in front of Fosters ?? Dropped our lines in only to have my dad ask why all the water was coming into the boat... His shoes were soaked..
Long story short, the hose broke off at the livewell pump connection which was letting more water in than the bilge pump could pump back out... Not sure how that could happen, but it did.. Friggen scarey *** !!

Scrambled to get out lines and drift sock out.. Finally got the boat to plane out and headed back to the docks so we could get the boat that was sinking out of the water and on the trailer... Never would I have imagined something so small could have turned into something that could have been tragic... Was more worried for my dad as he's 82...

No fish for us... Took him to the mouth of the Trent in behind Fresh Co, but nothing.. Current was very strong...

Time to let her dry out and get a new pump & hose... Back on the water next weekend for 4 days...

That is not the way a trip should go, glad you are OK, heading up with my brother in law and two 80+ fathers this weekend to try our luck.
First I am going out to check ALL THE HOSES ON OUR BOATS.
hopefully you get another opportunity soon!!!

Had the same thing happen to me. Now I keep a plug in the inlet on the transom unless I know I am going to use the livewells.
