Heading to Crotch Lake for my annual guys trip this upcoming week-end. Has anyone been up there yet this year? I heard the ice went out about 6 weeks ago. Anyone know what the water tempis , or where the fish might be hiding? Was thinking about targeting Pike.

Any advice? :?:

I was up there for the opener from the 10th to the 16th, caught most of our fish at nite, I think we ended up over the week with around 22 fish between 5 guys. Biggest 5.8lbs still full of eggs, we released I think 12 or 13 fish outside the slot, one of the best years I think we have had. most casting crank baits after dark near current, a few were caught in 40 fow during the day on bottom bouncers......

Thanks Andy

I guess I will fish the inlets at the north and south ends.
Where were you dragging bottom bouncers? I generally drag them in Big Black Bay and around Colonels Island on the way to Fawn.

We were out around big island, on the north-west side there is a ledge around the 40 foot mark then a fairly sharp drop down to 60, mark a ton of fish out there , a lot of little guys.... and the odd 18"er :)

Thanks, I know the spot you are talkng about (circled in red?). We fish it ever year. I had riggers out right on bottom fish time I found it. Of course the hump is not marked and it was a rush to bring them up and over it. There is a great little bay to the east of it in the shape of a U.
My plan is to fish Fawn tomorrow afternoon for Pike and then head to the north end of the lake on Friday mornign and fish my way back. Hopefully all of these changes in weather have not put them off.

Thanks for the advice.
