Hey guys, taking the GF and the pooch camping on Kash this weekend. Have never been. Not looking for any secret lures or spots by any means, but anything you could provide just to sort of get us started would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
E&C

This is a tough lake to fish. Where are you staying and what is your target species? I have fished this lake for over 10 years and know it pretty well. Hope your expectations are too high. KMBF

Don't worry, our expectations are never very high when we leave trolling Erie/Ontario behind, that's why I usually drag my feet going anywhere else, but I have to give her one weekend a summer away somewhere camping and casting. As for target species, I figured our best chance at anything would be for smallies right now, that would be fine by her. I wouldn't mind going for walleye, but I know this isn't really the ideal time of year. I just figured we'd try and find some weedy bays or some deep humps somewhere and start from there.

Best walleye fishing for inland lake in that area, very high population of walleye
Bouncers with harness or just slow troll with white jigs, also done good with all types of plastic, browns bay weed beds ... Or the white bouys by second island out
From browns bay ...

Browns bay is good. I like fishing the entrance to the west. There is a nice weed bed that holds bass on the lake side not browns bay side. The white buoys east of browns bay across the lake is good like punching holes said. Drift west to east from bouys to point. I like wacky's or drop shot with leeches you can't go wrong. Good luck

Not much to report back on. The crappy rainy weather meant more time was spent on shore drinking ryes and playing cards. Did manage to get out a few hours on Sunday before heading home. Got a couple small eyes bottom bouncing a harness. GF managed some smallies casting cranks. Thanks for the tips. We will be back, perhaps in the fall, loved the lake, great for my smaller boat.
