Was thinking of grabbing a 5lb tank run my buddy heater. Wondering if anyone does this? Wondering how it works. Get 2 days? Thanks for any input. Tight lines and be smart out there!!!

I have a 5lb tank as well , get 2-4 days out of it on normal use, I have a flip over and gets too hot sometimes, If I use the popup i get 2-3 days out of it as It is on high mostly. And really cheap if you fill it at Costco.

Make sure you use the propane filters on your hose, or your heater will get gummed up and not work afterwards. Cheers.

I use a 20 lber and it is a bit bulky but best for me and last a long time
As for the filter I don't use it not sure why you need it as a residential propane furnace and other appliances don't have them nor do BBQs

The filter is required to remove the particles that the hose generates as propane flows though it. The propane itself is not what the filter is for. Use it with all Buddy Heaters and they will perform flawlessly.

They are illegal but lots of people use them, there is a technique to do it as well that works great I'm told..lol

I have the fitting ( thanks tint). My understanding is the fitting itself is not illegal but apparently transporting refilled green tanks is some kind of a no no according to some obsecure regulation. The trick to filling the green bottles is to get them as cold as possible and keep the big BBQ tank warm.

I bought mine at sail last winter...and 2 other buddies did too...maybe Sail might not be doing it anymore...the procedure is to put the 1 pounders in the fridge (or at least get them cold)...the 20 lb tank should be at room temp or there abouts...and when you hook them up, you turn it up side down ie 20lb on top, 1 pound on the bottom and bob's your uncle
