Normally I'd say it's looking great but the County is getting blasted with lake effect snow right now. As I understand it, the Belleville area isn't getting the white out we are. This might insulate Huff's, Thompson's-Picton Bay area and ice might not build the same as Wagers, Trident or Onderdonks....Definitely watch yourselves if you head out in that area.....

I fished the reach tonight. Maybe inch or little more on there. Snow isn't bad. 3 to 4 inches of ice

Has anyone checked out Huffs our from the launch? I would think it would be making ice with these temps we are getting, but I thought I would check here before making the trek.

Thanks,

Was there on Wednesday. 4" black ice layered and very hard. By now probably thicker. Didn't go far to 26 ft Brutal day to fish. Saw a lot of perch , 5 pencil size eyes and one 19+ keeper.
I didn't find the fish because conditions were not for active search.
Saw a lot of huts toward Shermans from huffs.

I hope this helps.

I was there last night, 6 inches of black ice with 6 of snow on top made for hard pulling a sled, that was in the area I was in, again check for yourself but I'm sure there will be a 100 huts out there today.

Was there this morning, fished in 28 ft of water , ice was 4- 41/2 inches. Marked fish early and caught 2 small walleye on orange buckshot. hardly marked any from 9:00am to 12 . Counted 50+ huts out
