Checked ice on Sunday and I measured 8" about 50yards off shore Infront of wagers. Say 2 sleds and 3 atvs out there.

So what is a true spud? Stacy had as of last week a barrel full of Friebill spuds I didn't look at them and know nothing about them. I haven't ice fished in 20 years but getting bored enough to sit on a pail to try and catch a fish so I can shove it back down.
The best spud I ever had I made from a broken car spring welded to a heavy pipe and sharpened. I often used it and left auger at home.

A spud is pretty much a big chisel.
