heater problem Any ideas

I have 2 heaters. Regular buddy heater and the little buddy heater. Regular buddy heater works fine but the little buddy is giving me a problem, it wont light. When i push the ignition button the pilot light fires right up but as soon as I let go it dies. The heater is not lighting up only the pilot light comes on. I have held it on for 5 minutes and the thing just wont fire up. Any suggestions?

you may be holding the button in TOO long.. try pushing in the button ( which ignites the pilot ) and holding for only 20 seconds max.. key is to very SLOWLY release pressure on the button

Had one and gave it away because they are VERY TIPPY........... bought a regular BUDDY

its has a safety tip over switch it probably thinks its on its side lol shake it a little then try to relight it make sure its sitting on a flat surface. if that's not it check the thermo couple make sure that's clean use an old tooth brush and clean it up

if its a new tank make sure its not cold. I had a similar problem and when I tried a warm tank it worked first try

make sure the pilot flame is actually hitting that little element thing (excuse my english ha ha )..It may have bent out of alignment with the flame .

I believe when the pilot light is held on, it heats the thermocouple. The heated thermocouple generates a small voltage. This electrical current is what opens the gas valve and keeps the gas flowing to the pilot light when released and to the heater.
So, yes, check to make sure the pilot flame is coming close to the thermocouple to heat it.

Prob a bad thermocouple mine went onn me last year had same symptoms switched it n it worked fine

If the pilot will not stay lite it is a bad/dirty thermocouple. The milli-voltage that the thermocouple creates from the flame tells the main gas valve it has pilot flame so go ahead and open

Thermocouple. If the tip over sensor was buggered up the pilot shouldn't work either. Make sure your flame is hitting that thermocouple! It doesn't matter how long you hold the button down or how long that pilot is on. When my hut is too hot I turn heater to just pilot so when I want it back on I just turn to high. Don't have to dink around with lighting it again. You can buy replacement thermocouples.

Try using a q-tip in the little hole that your pilot lite is sometimes spiders make webs there , this has happened to me

When you get pilot going hold down button and quickly turn to high see what happens !!
But you want to ensure pilot light is making contact with thermocouple also check the connector end where it screws into gas valve to ensure it is nice and tight it's something to do with that of not bad gas valve
