I was just wondering if it is safe to travel towards the bridge in Belleville or is it an area that should never be fished. I've never fished out of Belleville but know there is current that could affect the thickness. If the bridge is out of question, how about in front of where the river flows out into the bay?

Lots of peeps fishing to the west and east side of the bridge....but last time I looked there was lots of open water on the south east side close to the bridge.....be safe, plenty of other places to go with much lower risk!

Cheers!

Just this past weekend a guy put his quad through the ice there. He got it back out but not a place to ever go with a machine and always with a spud when walking near there. Folks have been ging out onto the ice at Georeg ST. which is the area on the east side of the mouth of the moira river

That is the access I was thinking about using. We are walkers and will be careful but may not venture too close then.

Thanks for your replies.

Are you talking about the first red can you come to (Q54) or the first red can closest to the bridge (Q56/2)?
