Just wanted to mention that I was down the Quinte area on Wednesday and Thursday. We stayed at the Bayview Motel. I must say my stay there was very unpleasant. I've never been served so unpolitely. I even ask who the gentelmen was. His name is Jeff Marson. Seems he's the owner or manager. When we arrived, there was some major argument in the kitchen, yelling and swearing. I was quite worried. When asked if everything was o.k, I was told that it wasn't any of my "F'n" buisness. I was quite worried for the girl too. She asctually told me that all he does was yell at her but no abuse. This was from this gentelmen. (Not too sure I should call him that.) There was also another couple there with me that wasn't too sure what to do. A few incidents also happened with the room services and all that I just won't mention.
I've always met great people in your area and have ALWAYS been very pleased. I am never again going to got back to this motel. I just thought that this nonesense should be known as this is a great area to see.
I'm booked at the end of the month at "Tip of the Bay" motel. This was suggested to me from Kevin Lavers. His placed was already fully booked. I look forward to going back to Quinte at the end of the month. Hopefully things will be different.
Sorry for the negative post, but these things must be known.

thanks for the info, you are right, these things must be exposed, if people want to treat their customers like crap they deserve to lose business. sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience as well. Some people running a business simply do not understand what good.....or in your case bad customer service cost both their business and reputation. I have not stayed at either of the places (Tip of the Bay or Merlands) but understand that each enjoy a very high fill rate. Merlands seems to get a lot of repeats, making a strong case that it must serve its customers well.

I trully wish that a customer service certification course was encouraged more in the area. I work with consumers, retailers wholesalers and more everyday and it pays to be courteous and understand some fundamentals. The dividends it pays for any business is enormous and vastly underestimated, be it in dealing with tourists or locals.

I can think of some shining stars of local service as well, with at least one local supporter of the Quinte Tournament series being a fine gentleman as are many other business owners. Enjoy your time on the Bay of Quinte. There are lots of good people serving the area too!

Regards
Don Stokes

Truth of the matter is the Bay of Quinte area is in deseparate need of more Consumer/Fisherman friendly places.....

I know of 3 places that will never get another red cent from me...

I'd rather drive back home the 2 hours than give them my money again....

If you'd like to know where I speak of....drop me a PM...not my style to do it publically....

I have never stayed at the Bayview and as far as I know they have a good reputation. I would recommend sending a letter to the owner and let him deal with his employee. Being a business owner, there are times when my employees do not always reflect very well on my clients. I want my clients to make me aware of any unpleasant experiences or rude treatment from my employees so I can personnally deal with the matter. Problems can not be corrected if the owner is not aware. I think if it had been me, I would have contacted the owner first and then if no satisfaction, posted here on the board. Just my two cents worth, by the way, I have always had pleasant experiences at Perfect Vue. Tight lines all.

well i guarentee you it wasn't bayview, as my friend is staying there right now in his trailer, and the park is closed.

no power, no plumbing, no cottages for rent.

so our friend above here definately doesn't mean BAYVIEW RESORT.

That place is total quality....at least they have been when i've stayed there (as a paying patron of theirs).

I wouldn't want people to think this report above is regarding Bayview Resort.

The place I was talking about is just about 30 seconds from the Deseronto public launch. There is a sign that says it's under new management, but I wonder what kind of new management!!!

By the way, this is the first bad experience in the Quinte area. I have always had good experience with other places. Looking forward to my stay at Tip of the Bay motel at the end of the month.

Tip of the Bay is the only place I will stay at Quinte. I've tried a couple other places, but the hospilality is hurting. I'm sure there are other great spots to stay other than the Tip, but I haven't discovered them yet.

I'm not talking about poor service either, I'm talking about down right ignorant experience. I'd rather have no service than bad service.

It baffles my mind how a community that is blessed with so many tourisim dollars has developed a such a flavour for poor service.

~~~I just spent the weekend at the Tip Of The Bay and enjoyed the fact they allow Missy my dog to stay with me with no problems. Great dockage with lots of parking and the ramp next door is a plus
