Fri after work went to rush bar for a quick fish but cut it short as my sled was acting up and I was more concerned about getting back. I marked a few fish but no takers. The snow was starting to get pretty deep and saw a few quads getting stuck but nothing a bit of a push didnt solve. Sunday decided to go to pt anne in the morning and should of checked the weather first but didnt. Wind gusts to 44km, freezing sleet and blowing snow. When we got to pt anne there was only 2 vehicles in the parking lot. Got about a km off shore and the sled started acting up again (thought I had it fixed) so we stopped right where we were and started fishn. Ended up in about 15 ft of water and marked about 5-6 fish over a couple of hours with one hit. The fish came in pretty agressive and wacked my bait and got my minnows on the bite but no hook up. Was using the gold/orange sidewinder. The wind then got stronger and the sleet started so decided to pull the plug. Making our way back the visor completely froze over and I couldnt see a thing. No problem flip up the visor and keep going. Within a few minutes my glasses are also iced over so drove the rest of the way in blind looking over the top of my glasses but made it safe and sound. The snow is really piling up with some drifts 3-4 ft. When we drilled holes the ice was 12-14 inches and no slush yet. Hopefully it stays cold so we dont get any slush.
Shoulda checked the weather and stayed in bed....
