Hey Guys, I'm heading up early tomorrow AM, staying in Northport tomorrow night so we were going to fish out in front. Have a sled so I was going to move around the area. I know in general, the areas around Big Island are pretty good as far as ice and current goes, but I'm wondering about how far east I would be able to go until the current gets worse. Are the areas east of Q39 pretty strong? What about east of Q42? I know any ice can be unsafe, was just wondering in general what areas are known to be sketchy. I usually fish the reach from green point down to shermans so I know that area somewhat, but the area west of telegraph will be new to me. Thanks.

East of 42 is usually open (about .9-1km) and thins out pretty good with a strong current- at 40 it's open. Honestly probably wouldn't venture too far past County shores- not hard to miss as there are usually a number of huts set up set there. Stay safe.
