I went to Sherman’s yesterday ended up with only one small 2lb male to take home. When I got there I could not believe my eyes the entire bay was littered with garbage. There was a sub zero hut that had busted poles, a folding chair, bags of garbage, pop bottles and cans, food wrappers, empty 1lb propane tanks and more. All this stuff was not it one spot it was spread out all over so it was many people who left it there. I was going to detour (on foot) and pick up what I could on the way back in but unfortunately everything was buried in the snow when it came down and I could not see 10 feet in front of me in the dark. Two guys I met on shore had detoured on the way out and grabbed the hut off the ice to scavenge it for the poles but everything else was covered by the quick dumping. Do everyone a favor and take your crap with you! It is disrespectful to the environment and to all the people who live there who are going to have to pick it all up when the ice melts ad it makes it way to shore.

Not sure what can been seen out there today but If anyone has a snowmobile, a sled and 20 minutes there is a garbage can on shore at Shermans where it can be dumped. To those who left it there I hope you catch a chair or a garbage bag next time you are out...

I had someone throw a bag of garbage in my utility trailer when I was out fishing. Guess they thought I was making a dump run. Would rather that then littered all over the shore or ice.

Thanks for pitching in guys. Unreal the way people are these days....eventually these 'quasi-public' launches will be closed with no parking signs. Then what?

I have already been blocked to going places I have fished for years because of this. It would be nice to see the MNRF and police enforce littering laws more instead of blocking our access.

These same threads should get put in all sites from where other people travel from to come here to fish the Quinte area, . It would be nice to know this message is spread across the whole of southern Ontario and to as many people as possible to stop this crap from happening.

Sighn at Point Anne ,by the barge docks, says that they will close that access if litter continues, Lafarge must own that road,

Lafarge doesn't own it a family does. I was there and chatted with one of the family and he said the garbage better stop or they are going to close it off. I thanked him for allowing us to use it and made sure to pick up a coffee cup I saw.
