As we draw to the end of hard water season, I wonder... Who's day dreaming of opening weekend and who's going to fish the derby? I for one can't wait to hear the hum of the kicker and the rips on the clicker.

It's gonna be a big fish board again!

I think best thing about fishing is there's always a place all time of the yr to fish!! Hard water is sweet but dying to get boat back in!!! So pumped for opener!! Wish ice would stay and be gone and warm opening morning!!

X2 on the Browns BigMac - I've had enough of this cold weather.

We don't fish opening week-end, but have our reservations made for Mon, Tue. & Wed following - being retired has its advantages - LOL.

hardwater is my favourite type of fishing but I have to admit having to walk through all this damn snow has me itching to get on open water and looking forward to crappie/bluegill first but then walleye opener. Most likely wont be fishing the Kiwanis derby this year but will fish opener on zone 20 then take a weekend off (mothers day) and hit Rice lake the weekend after their opener.

Can't wait for the derby! Any other derbies around within a 200km radius?

It's gonna be may at our end of the lake before the ice is cleared out enough for browns....never seen lake. Ontario frozen like this before. White as far as you can see from Brighton to port hope
