I remember reading on the board when the last day was to fish walleye on quinte. Is it over March 1 at 12am. Or over March 1 at 11:59 pm. I can't remember

As I understand it, you can fish for walleye until 11:59.59 March 1.
March 2 marks the close of the season until the first Saturday in May.

I would read that as the closing date is march 1 therefore you can fish Feb 28 until 11:59:59...as soon as march 1 hits season is closed

Some different answers here, but Parsky is correct, you can fish all day on the 1st of March, season ends at 11:59:59.pm,(fish tales is very close!),(probably take at least that extra second to get your line out of the water) :)

According to this document,
http://files.ontario.ca/environment-and ... one_20.pdf
Open season is Jan. 1 to March 1, therefore, you would be in violation of fishing for walleye on March 2.
We go through this every year. Some years, the MNR regs extend the season a day or two sometimes as late as March 3. This year, they've gone to March 1.

Maybe that was it, it was always the last day of Feb and then it was slid to include March 1.....Not sure, I thought there was a March 2 on a Sunday in the past decade that was open.

can fish march 1 up to 11:29 pm? interesting! I mean not up to 11:59PM but 11:29PM (that is, 31 minutes before midnight?):-) Perhaps due to the fact that one needs about half a hour to pack up and leave?
