Hit the Bay again this weekend.....gotta love this time of the year.

Drags freezing. Ramps sliding. Props freezing. -14 lows. Pure Canadian i tells ya! ;D

Just getting us ready for the Niagara River.....

Anyways, the fishing is still rather slow.....certainly not the banner fall we were all hoping for. Released a few decent fish, biggest being a little over 11 pounds....the bonus was hitting a few fish less than 4 pounds....but thats after a lot of days with a lot of hours on the water.

All our fish were caught away from the Lighthouse (seriously)....they might still have been hiting there, but we'd had enough, and needed a change of scenery.

best part was, the old guy Les who lives next door to the park caught the biggest fish (little over 12 pounds) trolling right in front of the resort, lol....

here's some pics....the first one shows the snowy conditions we faced yesterday morning....but other than for that, the weather was really nice. I got to use my NFS 1000 survival suit.....better than i could have hoped for.....and my expectations were high!

All fish over five pounds were released.....

Brrrrrr.....nothing beats fishing in the snow....(really, its almost magestic seeing nothing but flakes six inches infront of ya.....we need a way to have other boats appear on the gps!)

and our biggest, a little over 11 pounds (his first walleye ever!!!)

Even though we ran it all weekend, not one fish came on the Doctor Death....actually, all came on one brand of lure....one not run very commonly there (not the jumla!) ... salmon seem to like it .... maybe the fish are really becoming used to the Manns.

Glad to hear that you found some fish and not near that lighthouse, we saw lots of marks last Monday to keep us away from there.

Old Les always get a big one close to Bayview. A few years ago he picked one 15.75 lbs just east of Bayview at the Wagon-wheel Point.

C U Next weekend on the water, we'll be out Fri/Sat and maybe Sun.

Not sure what Steve's top secret lure is... but the last couple of weeks the Yo-Zuri crystal Minnows and Reef Runners have been out producing the Mann's 20+ in my boat.

I'd bet even $$ that you're on the ball with that choice of lures.

Those reef runners -Wonderbread?? and those lures have thos barbs on the outside of the hook. Anyone have any problems with those?

believe it or not, it wasn't either of those....

although we ran the purple RR and the Chartreuse Deep Diving Yozuri.

this is a much more popular salmon lure (and at the risk of loosing all future trips on my partners boat, i must stop there)

actually, although our fish weren't caught on a spoon, i know of one angler who did very well with spoons on riggers.

but those fish will all be floaters, after being brought up from those depths....

spoons are something i bet would work really well...but very few anglers use them on Quinte.... the captain of the boat i use in the fall not only doesn't have riggers, but also doesn't own a single spoon....

but i see two or three guide boats in the area running riggers, and i'm sure there's a reason for it. my bet is they have spoons on the end of those rods.

steve i did a couple charters with fish finder . dave was using small cranks on the riggers.

as i said, i'm sure running riggers would work....any idea how far of a lead he runs behind the balls (PM me if you dont want to post publically....and i understand if you dont want to let it out....)
