Hi guys,

Just wanted to report catching my first ever lake herring!
Right around a pound and boy did it put up a fight (thought it was a small walleye off the hook set)

I heard they opened herring on simcoe this year... Is it the same on quinte??

I didn't keep it but I took a picture because it was my first... Was I allowed to do that?? I didn't think about the legality until afterwards...

Should I turn myself in or am I safe?? Lol

Oh p.s I caught it on the biggest clack n rap available. I wanted to show fishingmagician he is not the only one who can rattle fish in!!!Lol

Currently there are no regs on Herring in zone 20...probably hasn't been much of a demand for Herring.

I think the only limit on herring is simcoe. Those are some good pike bait !

Enjoy that stink!
Caught one of those a few years back, it was pretty big too. It hit a small perch lure right under the ice in 15 ft of water. Weird.
