Many of you know that myself and CLOSA have been trying to develop and improve the brown trout fishery in the Wellington and Brighton area over the past few years.
If you plan on fishing the Wellington area a few times for brown trout and lake trout this spring, send me a PM. We are interested in collecting research data this spring for the OMNR. Also if you would like to participate in a brown trout tagging program, please indicate this in the PM.
The only requirements is that you must have a livewell in your boat or some method such as a large cooler to keep fish alive.
I will reply to your PM as quick as possible with more info.

Thanks
Al

Al,

I'm not sure how many times I will get out, reality is probably not as much as I would like to. But sign me up, I'll do what I can to help. Maybe this will help get me out more this spring!

Dave

Here is a link to the proposed stocking changes for 2015-2019 in the wellington area.

Lots of proposed changes in wellington area. Looks like they will be removing the stocking of rainbows in this area and also maybe changeing the stocking of browns to every other year.

I am glad you brought that up Pickerel Killer.

This EBR listing has the new proposed stocking changes for Lake Ontario. You have a chance to make a comment and maybe make a change that you don't agree with. If your keyboard sits idle then don't complain a year from now about what has happened. NOW is your chance.

The OMNR reads your comments and they become part of the process. When the changes were made to the bass season, steelhead catch limit of 2 per day, and the musky minimum length there were less than 100 comments in the whole province on that listing. But there was criticism and tons of negative comments on the posting forums afterwards.

NOW is your chance.

I have received some PMs on the above posting and we still need a couple more participants.

Thanks
Al
