The river didn't have any open spots on Tuesday, probably going to start freeing up rather quickly depending on weather conditions!

Does anyone know if boat launch is open yet? I was on some pretty skinny ice yesterday and with the current was losing it fast. Makes me think ganny should be flowing pretty good.

I had a buddy ice fishing on the Ganny beside the launch on saturday.
He said over a foot of ice.

Went to see conditions on the Gan Saturday. guys were still on the ice all way to just prior to break wall.

Did not see any fish on the ice but one guy with full size rod was driffing a roe bag with bobber at the end of the ice had one on shore aprox 7-8 lbs

Sorry did not notice the boat launch

Very helpful. Thank you! Looking to get from boat launch to lake so a pic standing on boat launch looking towards lake would be awesome!!

Just got back from ice fishing the launch. Still over a foot of ice. Ice from south of tracks until the the rocks. Water is flowing over the ice at the tracks so I don't imagine it will be long breaking up. My ice gear is officially put away and out comes the float rod.

If u got a 12' tinny u can get it in there! U can just shove it accross the ice. A couple years ago I just shoved my old 14' accross in from the beach. Of course u need the right winds etc for that.

How about the Newcastle launch. Off Mill St. S and Boulton road. Can you check that one? Or anyone else around that area?

thks DRILLIN N CHILLIN for the pictures and update,
The river from the launch to the lake will not be long if we can get some big south winds.
It will get broken up very quickly. The remainder will have to be completed by the city, which I do not understand why they are waiting so long. It has usually been cleared by this time of year to prevent flooding

I don't think they've cleared it this early in a while. I've been standing on the ice this time last year.
