Im looking at selling my Rapala Nitro 43CC 8" Auger. It was new this year purchased at the beginning of February. The auger hasn't seen a second tank of fuel yet

Went to buy Marcum...was told unit was a year old...checked battery...date on battery was 2012/04

Lol....have no idea what you're talking about...you lied...

I'm sure the retailer that apparently sold this unit in 2014 is in the practice of putting 2 year old battery's in their units.

They will stay in business a long time with those business practices....

The company that manufactured the battery for Marcums unit could have made the battery and stamped in for 2012 date as per the the sticker on the battery. That does not mean the unit is that old. Just like buying a BRAND new 2012 f150 at ford that just didnt sell till 2014.
