Today is my last kick at the can for them Laker's I believe, going to the ice and just relaxing. So far the score for this first year of lake trout fishing is 6 trips, no fish, it could be worse with no trips. Heading to Loughborough in a few minutes trying remove the Image

Good luck! Let me know how you do. We are hoping to get out there on Friday if the ice holds with the rain coming.

Landed the one and played tag or hide and go seek with a few others, This one came in at about 3 pounds and I also landed a two ounce herring.

Merv another gentleman on the ice not to far from me took two home.

Not sure where you will be fishing, I was at the Loughborough Rd. boat ramp on the South End. 1-3 inches of rain water on the ice some slush not much when I walked off at 5:00 and still raining. Ice was 3-4 inches of white and 20+ inches of black. Measured by another fisher just over from me at 9:00 in the morning to a thickness of 26 inches.

Nice fish!!

Thanks, that is the access we will be using so sounds like it will be good to go. Hoping to get our first laker ever! What depth seemed to be producing the fish?

50 -70 feet deeper then that they just did not want to play.

We tried today from 30 to 93 fow and only marked 3 fish that scattered just after I marked them! We fished from 11:30-3:30 and only 3 other people out there. Maybe next year!

I was one of the other 3, thought that might of been you that parked beside me on the ice, yours was a white ?? and mine was the Ford Taurus wagon. I was the one that you set up by when you first came out if you were using a Smitty, I was the one that made a trip or two to the guy in the red ranger. You would of had someone with you, one wearing a pink and grey jacket and the other with black and grey if memory serves me correct.

Oh and by the way the set of holes that you looked at when you left the first spot are the holes that Merv the guy with the Red Ranger picked up the 2 fish on the other day.

Yeah, that was us. I was in the black and pink outfit and hubby in the blue and black. Too bad you didn't introduce yourself, I would have liked to meet you. Must have just been a slow day though. We did see the holes but thought it was a little too close to the truck so kept on walking a bit further.

Yeah I got a phone call while on the ice, that is why I ended up leaving early, I only just got there a few minutes before you. I thought that may have been you but I was mind occupied with work while on the ice. Next time I will try to be social, I was not even going out today since I had work issues that I was expecting kinda sorta but not certain. Oh well next time, who knows maybe tomorrow.
