I'm not surprised. I grew up on lower Detroit River/Lake Erie and first learned to fish walleye by hand lining which is still popular in the area. The area produces many large walleye particularly in early Spring when this event took place. I still make an annual trip home in late June to fish with my brothers, but because of the distance involved I now regularly vist BOQ which is a lot closer for me. I love both areas for walleye fishing, and have many good memories from both locations.
