Heard tonight two fisherman left Deseronto at 2am this morning to go fishing were reported late this morning missing. They left in a 14ft red boat with a small motor. OPP, CFB helicopter are searching for them. They are asking if anyone has any information to please contact them.

I'm hoping they will be found but at this point I'm doubting it. Potential for a very sad ending.

I am hoping for a happy ending

Brightly beams our Father’s mercy,
From His lighthouse evermore,
But to us He gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore.

Let the lower lights be burning!
Send a gleam across the wave!
Some poor struggling seaman
You may rescue, you may save.
Dark the night of sin has settled,
Loud the angry billows roar;
Eager eyes are watching, longing,
For the lights along the shore.
Trim your feeble lamp, my brother;
Some poor sailor, tempest-tossed,
Trying now to make the harbor,
In the darkness may be lost.

The Whig cut off their forum on this story when a bunch of racially insensitive comments came up. I hope they're found but survival for an extended period in that water will require a miracle.

That's just wrong!!!

Not sure if this was the catalyst but the Whig have now banned ALL on-line commenting.

IMHO - a good idea until posters are somehow accountable and unable to hide with asinine commenting.

The Whig was overrun by Harper hating trolls. I guess they got tired of deleting inappropriate comments.

Sadly, it's looking more and more like they will be discovered by some tourney fisherman this weekend. Say a prayer that there are no kids on board if that does indeed happen....

Any news on these fellas? Does anyone know if the boat was found? Debris? Anything?
