Got a report today that the water level is record low for this time of year. Water levels I hear are Late Fall levels. This can't be good for this years spawning anyone else feel this way. Are we selling water ? I hear the spillways are flowing strong on the Trent at the 401 that you can see from the highway.

I've noticed the same thing. Maybe the Seaway has not yet restricted the flow and upped the water level for the shipping lanes. Hopefully the level is up for the opener.

Might have something to do with all the northern lakes still frozen over...there is actually snow still on the ground in some low lying north facing areas around my place and I live near Brighton

No April Showers. This is the first year in over 40 years of watching that I haven't seen the water up over the old airplane dock and filling most of the park in Tweed. This time last year it was up to the road. The people that were flooded out last year are probably quite happy with the way the spring runoff went. Now we need rain.....total fire ban in North Hastings.

Read on another forum that they let out too much water during the winter in anticipation of high water levels. Don't know if this is true or not.

I live by lock 19 in peterborough on the trent River. 2 weeks ago I noticed normally where the walleye spawn was completely above water, the river was way down! The river has come up by 3' in the last week.

I read that in the mid west states they are doing a lot of fracking for oil, the article stated they need 2 billion gallons of water per year. They have to get the water from somewhere?
