Quinte Fishing

Wondering what people saw in the west end of the bay this weekend. Were the fish spawning still or recently done? What was water temps that way? We had 53-54 in the east where we fished.

Our fish seemed perfect and didn't look like they'd even spawned yet. No marks or scrapes etc but when cleaned there was no eggs or sperm sacks.

Just tryin to see some opinions

Interesting thread BigMac & I'm interested in replies. I was thinking cold weather may have made for a late spawn. We are heading down to BOQ tomorrow for three nights & will also be fishing east end.

We fished hay bay mostly. And near Sherman's. We caught 6 fish. All fished were empty of eggs and spawned out. Water temps there where 15C at hay bay. And 13.7 up near Sherman's. Water is definitely warmer than I expected it to be.

Water temps in the trent were 55° for the most part. Caught a few fish with banged up tails. I saw the winner in the tank and she was full of eggs. Was watching the Indians spearing 2 days before the derby and there were quite a few walleye on their stringers that have not dropped their eggs yet.

The 12.76lb did not show any signs of eggs and it was banged up a lot. It was weighed in at Perfect Vue and took a long time to recover before it swam off. We joked with the guy holding it which was the leader at the time that he should give it mouth to gill resuscitation. It would have likely won if it had a belly full of eggs.
