It seems strange to me that all the fish on the kid's board are smaller than all the fish on the main board. I my 50 years plus of fishing I have noticed huge numbers of large fish that tried to commit suicide at the end of a kids line. So is this a case of this one's not big enough I'll hand the rod off to a kid? Just strange that of all the kids trolling a real big fish didn't visit one of their lines.

You're probably right but do you really want to go there. It's been going on for years but do you want to bring Kids into an adult pissing match. Their prizes aren't that great anyway but why destroy a kids day.

No it's amazing to me that some of the kids are not catching bigger fish or wining the whole thing.

I had the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place kid in the Junior pike derby with me in the boat. Your comment on passing the rod off I think I would re-think. He is 7 years old. He casted the rod, he set the hook and he reeled in the fish, with much struggle I may add, but did everything except net the fish by himself. He also won 1st and 3rd last year in this tournament, again doing it all by himself.

It would bring me much more joy to see a child catch a 9+ pound fish then myself. The smile on his face was priceless. He is hooked for life and really isn't that what it's all about? And that's what matters.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Chris
