Mainly fished the flats by ram island this past weekend with bouncers and harnesses. Caught about 20 fish but hardly any size. Most of them were 1.5-2lbs with some barely 12" and even got a couple that were last years spawn at about 6". Looks good for the future. Most of the boats around were also catching them and when the MNR came by word from them was this was the most active area. The water temp in the morning was 56 but by midday had warmed to mid 60s. Also starting to see some weed beds in shallower areas. At the camp a few had fished the flats at the back end of hay bay and said the pike were everywhere with a few eyes caught.

Thanks for the report Dan. As you say it looks bright for future fishing when you catch mixed year classes like that. Our Ayr Sportsmans group are making our annual spring trip to Sunset Farms this week for the 29th year. We always have a great time with these folks, and hopefully the fishing is as good as usual. I'll send a report next weekend on how our fishing went
Catch ya later

The fishing in Mohawk Bay has been about the same ,no major concentration of fish. Some are suspended and then you can still catch with bottom bouncer. Fish have been small like Dan said. :) The fishing is very slow ,the slowest we have seen since early 2000's :x Usually now the narrows are great but not this year :?: Did catch some fish in 19ft. of water by the old canning factory up from Fosters. My grandson landed his 1st eye ,4#s ,he is 4 and 1/2 :)
