TrophyHunter has always told me that once a 50"+ fish comes to the boat you will be wrecked. Well, I now know what he was talking about. While walleye fishing in the summer over the past few years we have caught a few decent musky, and have even started occasionally somewhat targeting them. But yesterday I had a good feeling. We were out walleye fishing and I put one Musky rod out in the spread and told the guys that we were going to get a big ski today on that rod. Well the day was going really well with lots of fish including walleye, pike and drum. Watching the radar, there was a big wall of rain on its way and we were discussing when we should pull lines to head in. We decided to stick it out just a little bit longer. That was definitely the right decision.

Here is a 55" beautiful musky that we boated yesterday. I think I've now caught the bug. This is going to get expensive...

Congrats Jeff and crew , the madness will start now , heavy rods , heavy line , custom $200 dollar baits good thing you have connections  fish like that come very rarely and in waters that you have to know very well as it blows up big out there having an experianced captain like Jeff makes it a lot safer, as to where it was caught " Right in the corner of the mouth "

Mercury will certainly love that first pic...it's a sweet one :)

also love the last one - a photo with a smiling face, and a shocked face, holding the same fish....now that can't be beat!!!!

finally, just remember what you caught that fish of a lifetime with....the rod, the reel, and the tackle...

just keep putting it down :) :) :)

Congrats on a beast Jeff. Releasing a legal fish on those trophy waters (54"+) is an accomplishment anglers dream about. 8)
After looking at that first pic Soggy D is now refusing to clean weeds off the transducer.
