I have found in the last week in the eastern big Bay area, the largemouth have finally positioned themselves in summertime schools in their usual areas. I have been fishing weed lines and having good success with the typical good summertime size average. The fish do not seem to be everywhere but when you locate them they are schooled up. I have been fishing plastics slow to get the bigger bites. The crappies have been on the bite as well with some nice slabs caught. The bay in my area has warmed up to the upper 70's and clarity is stained but not as bad as earlier with the really heavy algae blooms. Good luck.

Bass guys are quiet everywhere. I think it's a "tournament guy thing" Giving away info isn't gonna happen when there is money on the line. Seems strange though, cause I fish both walleye and bass, and I find it a helluva lot easier to catch bass than walleye....lol

It may be easier to catch bass than walleye... But it's harder to consistently get big largemouth than walleye! Big meaning 4 pounds + !
And yes, we can be tight lipped

I think it depends on what u consider to be big walleye. It's not so easy to catch a 10+ lb walleye from June-Oct unless you go hunt for them on the big pond. After the fall run starts is easy in the sense that if you get bit it will likely be a big fish but still not easy. I'm sure there are many people that haven't caught a 10+ walleye or even a 11lb since that's comparable to a 4.5 largemouth in my opinion.

I believe large bass are easier to catch also. Only based on the fact that I may only fish bass once a year, maybe 2x and, and we always boat atleast one or 2 over 4lbs.

After reading this post I gotta say that I agree with Big Mac's comment. I used to strictly fish Walleye. I started bass fishing about 6 years ago because I was sick of not catching much walleye. I had read article upon article on Walleye, tried lure after lure, rig after rig....etc. They just didn't seem to bite like when I was a kid growing up in this area. So I started to bass fish. And my results are way better than my walleye results. I consistantly catch 4lbs+ bass every year. Just caught two 4lbs bass on saturday. The biggest two walleye I have ever caught were 8 pounds each. One was two weeks after an opening weekend, the other while ice fishing. To me the Quinte area is a much better bass hot spot than it is "walleye Central".

Bass are pretty easy to catch, so are bigger bass if you keep pounding away. It's just a numbers game, put 20 in the boat, you will boat some larger bass. It's harder in a tournament because like any tournament, you have to fish no matter the conditions, against people that may have the same idea as you, and you have to do it in a limited amount of time. But take out weather, competition and timeframe and bass are pretty easy pickings no matter the size. They are dumb, hungry and very plentiful. That's why they are so popular, and why so many guys fish for them. Picking apart a lake for pickerel or certain other species is something that challenges a lot of guys, so back to bass they go.

Just to clarify... Walleye are easier to catch then consistently catching big bass.

Didn't say anything about big walleye.

Why argue over this? The real question is Why bass fish in the summer when there are Trout and Salmon to catch?
