Hello everyone I have not been on here much lately, looking forward to fall fishing so hopefully I will have a bunch of reports.
Being an odd numbered year this is the year the pink salmon run up the rivers and streams in Northern Lake Huron in larger numbers.
I am hoping to make a trip up there this September for a weekend to try my luck at catching a few pinks. Pink salmon are a Pacific salmon, the smallest salmon species, most are 2-4 pounds, but are lots of fun to catch on light tackle.
We would be fishing the Thessalon, Blind River, Algoma Mills areas from shore usually casting small spoons with spinning gear.
I have not been up there since 2009 I believe, but we caught a bunch of fish that last trip.
The plan would be to drive to Blind River Friday after work..... catch a few hours sleep in the vehicle Friday night..... start fishing at first light on Saturday.... fish a few different spots on Saturday.
Get a cheap motel room Saturday night fish a couple different spots Sunday morning and start heading back home around noon on Sunday.
I am south of Ottawa but we could meet somewhere along the way.
Looking for 1 or 2 guys or gals interested in making the trip.
Looking at the weekend of September 11-13 or 18-20th.
Any takers?
