Quinte Fishing

I've heard so much about the wonderful fishing opportunities on the Bay, that my brother and nephew, and I, will be making a trek from our homes in Wisconsin and Colorado respectively in early January to fish in the Trenton area. Anyone have some tips, recommendations? Our goal is to leave w/ one trophy fish ... the rest to be returned to the Bay.

The Bay of Quinte is a massive body of water that holds numerous oppurtunities for trophy walleye. If your travelling that distance and spending that kind of money spend a little more and contact one of the guides on this board. There's so much good fishing on the ice here that I'm positive that with a guide you'll have a fishing experience you'll treasure for the rest of your lives. Good luck

I must agree with the previous poster. In light of the overall expense of the trip, hiring a good guide (with lots of ice fishing experience on the Bay), will be the best investment you'll make in the trip, next to getting yourselves there. All the best and respect those beautiful females (the walleye of course!!)

hey rocky man trenton produces some nice trophys mouth of the bay is not to bad but to crowded. the narrows in bayside is the place to go for the hawgs.use anything green and stay away from the crowds and you should do just fine.good luck

Thanks for the responses. We have hired a guide through a local angler (Mike Nieman) who we've been told is an outstanding guide. The post regarding the use of "anything green" ... Swedish pimples? Hopkins Smoothies? Others?

Also, while fishing for walleye ... other panfish we can catch to eat?
