Watched commercial fisherman pull gill nets from the Trent River yesterday behind the Freshco grocery store. I just moved back to the area and was surprised to see gill nets in the river. They had small black flags on the floats, are these found around the bay? Are they a hazard to boaters ?

I first saw them when I was crossing the bridge, by the time I got to the boat launch the nets were almost pulled. They were heading upstream in the boat when I departed.

They arent "Gill Nets" they are trap nets and they have a quota for pan fish in the bay
