Headed out from Mississauga with my bro at 5:30 AM. Hit 401 construction from 400 to Avenue Road and after that smooth sailing. Stopped at bait shop at Jane and 401 area, great minnows and the guy was very friendly don't remember the name of the place (beside MacDonald's). Toronto Sportsman something... Finally reached Deseronto and on the water by 10:00.
Jigged with the minnows and within the first 5 minutes a 10lb sheep head, then a 5 lb walleye, 5 lb bass, sheep head, channel cat, sheep head,
13 lb eye, channel cat, 2 lb eye, sheep head, 2 lb eye.
Between my brother and I total 4 walleye, 10 sheep head, 2 bass, 3 channel cats. Lost a monster near the surface that I didn't get to see. It pulled a lot of line, I'm sure is was a 10 lb+ eye but not sure as the channel cats fight similar. Was hoping to catch a Pike to round out the major species cycle
.
Never caught so many different species at the BOQ on the same day. Usually it's either walleye or nothing.
Winds were perfect 5 - 15km, SW in the morning and NW in the afternoon, during the day there was sun, rain, hail.
Great day, not as many eyes as we wanted but over all a great day of catching.
