We made our first fall trip Nov. 10, 11 & 12 and totally understand and agree with how tough it can be in getting the weather gods to be agreeable. We launched in Picton Tuesday am and as rain was forecast and appeared to be coming, immediately put up top and side curtains. As per plan ran to just east of the bat cave & started trolling back west towards cement plant. Fished until 4:30 pm with nothing to show for our efforts. Wednesday we ran all the way to the upper gap & started trolling west again in the calmest water I have seen in a long time, but we still could not get Waldo to come up & play. Water temperature was pretty steady around 52. Marked tons of bait balls & lot of hooks, particularly off the bat cave - but no takers. Weather was damp, but very nice with no wind, so we fished with our jackets off with top up & side curtains on - very pleasant. Coast Guard was predicting severe weather for Thursday so we pulled Erie-Eyes Wednesday night, cancelled fishing on Thursday morning and came home early.
Now planning on next trip Nov. 24,25, & 26, and we will try again, weather permitting. Love my fall trips to BOQ, even if Waldo refuses to co-operate - LOL.
