Mixing gas isn't that big of a deal. Mix up a small 2 gallon can at the beginning of the season and it will last a long time. Top up the auger before each outing and you're good to go. Gotta be better than dealing with those 1 lb propane bottles. Those little propane bottles are probably double or triple the price of gas too.

I have the k-drill as well, it is expensive, but I love it. It replaced my Honda strike lite and I have no regrets as it is super light and compact. I bought the Milwaukee Fuel 18 drill which is what they recommend on the web site and it works great. If you walk around a lot on the ice I would consider it.

The battery augers are great if you don't ice fish 50-60 days per season and drill 500 holes....... They are great if you keep the batteries warm I guess but I've ice fished in -30c many times and they don't cut it..I know plenty that have bought the other devices that will never stand up to gas. Ask anyone of us on this board that fishes that many days and the answer every time will be gas. This IMO is a great value... I spent the full price last year.......

I can fish every day with my K-Drill, no problem. Cold doesn't effect the Lithium Ion batteries much at all. I don't drill hundreds holes a day, but I can drill 300 inches of ice before battery fuel gauge goes from 3 lights to 2. My drill is so reliable that I leave the second battery at home.
I can't speak about the other battery devices.
I can't speak about gas either, other than what I have witnessed on the ice. I have drilled a few holes for guys who couldn't get their gas unit started.

As I tell my kids, "NEVER is a very long time and EVERY TIME is a lot of times".
